Example of an Opportunity cost could real estate, gold, bitcoin/crypto, and so on. It is about timing to get optimal returns. Holding real estate that is not exactly liquid can be an opportunity cost, especially when it costs another 3-5% to sell. Gold has an opportunity since it can decline no matter what you hear from marketers. Bitcoin and crypto is a one long dismal winter with no long-term returns.
